Identify the OLT side, splitter stages and locations, feeder, distribution and drop lengths, terminal point, and subscriber equipment.

Take loss values from the selected cable, PLC splitter, adapter, connector, pigtail, splice plan, and approved design basis.

Keep reserve visible

Do not bury aging, repair, environmental, measurement, or project reserve inside a component value. Record the required reserve as its own line.

Keep the calculated design record and the field acceptance record separate so deviations can be located and reviewed.

Use the available budget stated for the exact equipment combination and operating plan. Keep transmitter, receiver, wavelength, class, and any project derating visible in the design record.

Should measured splice loss replace the design allowance?

Keep design and measured values separate. Use the approved design allowance during planning, then record measured results in the installation and acceptance documents without erasing the original basis.

Does a positive result approve the network?

No. It only shows that the entered arithmetic leaves the entered reserve. Equipment compatibility, wavelength, topology, splitter data, reflectance, connector condition, installation, testing, and the project acceptance basis still require review.
